On the prediction of side-wall wrinkling in sheet metal forming processes (Q1582784): Difference between revisions

The authors use a modified energy approach to derive a stress-based criterion for side-wall wrinkling during deep drawing processes. An analytical model gives the critical buckling stress as a function of material properties, geometry parameters and stress ratio. Using the finite element method, the authors perform a simulation of wrinkling phenomena, and compare the numerical results obtained with existing experimental results.
