Let \(V\) be a finite-dimensional vector space over a field \(K\) of characteristic \(0\). A finite group \(G\subseteq \mathrm{GL}(V)\) naturally acts on the free Lie algebra \(L=L(V)\) generated by a base of \(V\). If \(|G|\) is an invertible element of \(K\) then it follows from [\textit{V.~Drensky}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 120, 1021--1028 (1994; Zbl 0801.17020)] that the subalgebra of invariants is infinitely generated. In the article under review, the author gives a more precise description for this set of generators. Let the subalgebra of invariants \(H=L^G\) be freely generated by the set \(Y=\bigcup_{n=1}^{\infty}Y_n\), where \(Y_n\) is the set of elements of degree \(n\). The author gives this description in terms of the generating function \(\mathcal H (Y,t)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}|Y_n|\,t^n\) by computing a precise formula for this function.
