Existence, uniqueness and multiplicity of positive solutions for singular boundary value problems are studied in this paper. The authors obtain the multiplicity result of large solutions based on the Keller-Osserman condition from a dynamical perspective, which is of a great novelty. Furthermore, a counterexample is given to demonstrate that an important result of \textit{S. Dumont} et al. [Adv. Nonlinear Stud. 7, No. 2, 271--298 (2007; Zbl 1137.35030)] is incorrect.
