This paper deals with the following mixed boundary value problem for a logistic-type equation \[ -\Delta u=\lambda u^{q-1}-f(z,u)\text{ in }\Omega,\quad u>0\text{ in }\Omega, \] \[ u=0\text{ on }\Sigma_1,\quad \frac{\partial u}{\partial n}=0\text{ on }\Sigma_2. \] Here, \(\Omega\) is a \(C^2\)-boundary domain in \(\mathbb{R}^N\), \(\Sigma_1,\Sigma_2\subset \partial\Omega\) are two disjoint \((N-1)\)-dimensional submanifolds of class \(C^2\), with positive \((N-1)\)-Hausdorff dimension, such that \(\Sigma_1\cup \Sigma_2=\partial \Omega\), and \(\overline{\Sigma}_1\cap \overline{\Sigma}_2\) is a \((N-2)\)-dimensional manifold of class \(C^2\). The exponent \(q\) is strictly greater than \(2\) and subcritical, and the Carathéodory function \(f:\Omega\times [0,+\infty)\rightarrow [0,+\infty)\) is, in the second variable, subcritical and superlinear at \(\infty\), superlinear at \(0\), and satisfying certain monotonicity conditions. Under the conditions above, the authors prove that there exists \(\lambda^*>0\) such that the problem has at least two solutions for \(\lambda>\lambda^*\), at least one solution for \(\lambda=\lambda^*\), and no solution for \(\lambda \in (0,\lambda^*)\). The proof relies on variational methods and truncation arguments.
