The aim of this note is to extend a theorem proved independently by \textit{J. Cheeger} [Ann. Math. (2) 109, 259--322 (1979; Zbl 0412.58026)] and \textit{W. Müller} [Adv. Math. 28, 233--305 (1978; Zbl 0395.57011)] to spaces with isolated conical singularities by generalising the proof of \textit{J.-M. Bismut} and \textit{W. Zhang} [An extension of a theorem by Cheeger and Müller. With an appendix by François Laudenbach. Paris: Société Mathématique de France (1992; Zbl 0781.58039)] to the singular setting. The main tools in this approach are the Witten deformation and local index techniques developed by the author in [J. Reine Angew. Math. 724, 1--52 (2017; Zbl 1367.58009); Ann. Inst. Fourier 67, No. 1, 197--236 (2017; Zbl 1387.55009); C. R., Math., Acad. Sci. Paris 355, No. 1, 94--98 (2017; Zbl 1361.58012)].
