The global behavior of positive solutions of the class of three-point boundary value problem \[ u''+h(t)f(u)=0,\;u(0)=0,\;u(1)=\lambda u(\eta),\tag{*} \] is studied, where \(\eta\in(0,1)\) and \(\lambda\in [0,\frac 1 \eta)\) is a parameter. The following results are established: Theorem 1. Let the following conditions hold: (A\(_1\)) \(h\in C([0,1],[0,\infty))\) does not vanish on any subinterval of \([0,1]\). (A\(_2\)) \(f\in C([0,\infty),[0,\infty))\) and \(f(s)>0\) for \(s>0\). (A\(_3\)) \(0<\alpha<\frac 1 \eta\). If \(f_0=0\) and \(f_\infty=\infty\), then \(\Sigma\) contains a continuum which joins \(\{0\}\times C[0,1]\) with \((\frac 1 \eta,0)\), where \(f_0=\lim_{s\to 0}\frac{f(s)}{s}\), \(f_\infty=\lim_{s\to \infty}\frac{f(s)}{s}\) and \(\Sigma\) is the closure of the set \(\{(\lambda,u)\in [0,\frac 1 \eta)\times C[0,1]: u \) is a positive solution of (*)\(\}\). Theorem 2. Let (A\(_1\)), (A\(_2\)) and (A\(_3\)) hold. If \(f_0=\infty\) and \(f_\infty=0\), then \(\Sigma\) contains a continuum which joins \(\{0\}\times C[0,1]\) with \((\frac 1 \eta,\infty)\). Remarks: It is a reasonably good paper.
