Let \(D^ N\) denote the open unit polydisk in \({\mathbb{C}}^ N\) and \({\mathcal P}_ N=\{f| f\) is holomorphic on \(D^ N\), \(Re(f)>0\) and \(f(\theta)=f(0,0,...,0)=1\}\). Denote by g a rational inner function on \(D^ N\) which satisfies \(g(\theta)=0\) (g is then expressible as \(g=MQ^*/Q\) where Q is a polynomial having no zero on \(D^ N\), \(Q^*(z)=Q^*(z_ 1,z_ 2,...,z_ N)=Q(1/\bar z,...,1/\bar z_ N)\), and M is a monomial such that \(MQ^*\) is a polynomial). If \(\delta\) (g) denote \(\pi^ N_ j(d(j)+1)\) where d(j) is the degree of M in \(z_ j\) and G is of the form \(G=(1+g)/(1-g)\), the author proves that the real dimension of \({\mathcal J}(G)\) (the smallest face of the convex set \({\mathcal P}_ N\) containing G) is \(\leq \deg (g)-2\) and this bound is attainable if g is continuous on \(\bar D{}^ N\).
