Weil's original approach to uniform spaces through entourages of the diagonal and Tukey's via uniform covers are well documented in most books on the subject. On the other hand, in the pointfree context, the study of uniform frames and their generalizations has proceeded through uniform covers. The author of the present paper introduces Weil entourages of a frame as the pointfree analogue of entourages of the diagonal of a set and proceeds to discuss their role in the study of quasi-uniformities, quasi-nearnesses, proximities and infinitesimal relations.
