The Young measure method for a nonlinear variational wave equation (Q1852699): Difference between revisions

This short paper collect in informal way a long list of results obtained by the authors on the solutions to the problem \[ u_{tt}- c(u)[c(u)u_x]_x =0,\quad t>0,\;x\in{\mathbb R}, \qquad (u,u_t)_{|t=0}=(u_0, u_1)\in (H^1, L^2). \] The main tool in obtaining these results is the Young measure method as introduced by \textit{P. Gérard} in [Commun. Partial Differ. Equations 16, 1761-1794 (1991; Zbl 0770.35001)]. The results presented here can be found in [Asymptotic Anal. 18, 307-327 (1998; Zbl 0935.35031), Acta Math.
