The author discusses the idea of ``complex crown'' of a Riemannian symmetric space \(X\) which should be some canonical Stein neighborhood \(\text{Crown} (X)\), such that natural geometric constructions on \(X\) have natural extensions to \(\text{Crown}(X)\) and essential analytic objects on \(X\) admit holomorphic extensions to \(\text{Crown}(X)\). Candidates for the definition of \(\text{Crown}(X)\) are presented as well as partial results supporting them.
