The author deals with third-order differential equations for which there exists a change of variables transforming the originally given equation into linear form. Given two differential equations, if there exists a transformation which takes one of them into the other, then the two equations are said to be equivalent under the admitted type of transformations. This definition creates a partition into equivalence classes. The goal is to develop solution schemes for complete equivalence classes. Lie symmetries of linearizable third-order equations are determined and its relation to the equivalence classes of linear equations are showed. Mainly, an algorithm is presented allowing it to transform linearizable equations by hyperexponential transformations into linear form from which solutions may be obtained more easily.
