In contrast to autonomous linear equations, there are different ways how to define a notion of topological equivalence for linear nonautonomous systems. The author shows that an exponentially dichotomous linear nonautonomous differential equation on a complex Banach space \[ \frac{dx}{dt} = A(t)x \] with continuous and bounded (in \(t\)) operator function \(t \mapsto A(t)\) is topologically equivalent to the autonomous system \[ \frac{dx}{dt} = (Q - P)x, \] where \(P\) and \(Q\) are the projections given by the exponential dichotomy structure for the nonautonomous equation. Since the transformed equation is autonomous he is able to show that it does not matter which definition of (nonautonomous) topological equivalence one chooses. The time-dependent transformation is constructed explicitely in terms of the data of the exponential dichotomy. As a consequence, systems with exponential dichotomy are shown to be structurally stable.
