The paper gives a noncommutative generalization of projective and Grassmannian manifolds within the framework of quantum groups. Quantum groups are Hopf algebras with an additional structure (quasitriangularity or its dual version) and can be used to construct a very powerful type of noncommutative geometry. \(R\)-matrices are defined as invertible solutions of the \(n\)-dimensional quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Quantum groups \(SU_q (n)\) and \(U_q (n)\) are defined as quotients of the Hopf algebras of \(R\)-matrices by relations satisfied by quantum determinants. These quantum groups act covariantly on the algebra of quantum vectors. Similarly an algebra of quantum covectors is defined. A braided tensor product of these two algebras is defined. Quantum spheres are defined as quotients of the braided tensor product and feature as base spaces of various quantum principal bundles. Complex projective quantum spaces are defined as the subalgebra of \(U_q (1)\)-invariant elements of the quantum spheres. The paper also gives a definition of quantum Grassmannian manifolds as quantum principal bundles which include the case of projective quantum spaces.
