The author discusses the relation between the Floer cohomology and quantum cohomology rings (in the physical framework, namely in the context of \(N= 2\) sigma models and the moduli spaces of holomorphic instantons, [cf. \textit{W. Lerche}, \textit{C. Vafa} and \textit{N. Warner}, Chiral rings in \(N= 2\) superconformal theory, Nucl. Phys. B 324, No. 2, 427-474 (1989)]. Novikov rings and the Floer symplectic cohomology are described from the mathematical and physical points of view. The author conjectures and gives some arguments that there should exist some equivalence between the Floer cohomology theory and the quantum cohomology theory via the BRST deformations (from the article: ``Certainly, it does not contain a mathematically rigorous proof''). C. de la Ossa}, A pair of Calabi-Yau manifolds as an exactly soluble superconformal field theory, Nucl. Phys. B 359, No. 1, 21-74 (1991)], \textit{A. Floer} [J. Differ. Geom. 30, No. 1, 207-221 (1989; Zbl 0678.58012)].
