In many situations dealing with contact geometry, a very attractive approach is to symplectize, thus gaining access to the quite smooth and very rich structure of symplectic geometry. As a rule however, the operation of symplectization results in a noncompact, nonconvex situation, making e.g. Floer homology in its standard form inapplicable. Using basically an idea from \textit{H. Hofer} [Pseudoholomorphic curves in symplectizations with applications to the Weinstein conjecture in dimension three, preprint (1993)], this paper shows how to master this complication and then applies the resulting, modified, Floer homology to the Lagrange intersection problem.
