The text investigates affine chain geometries over Jordan algebras. First it is shown how such chain geometries can be constructed in a rather classical manner. Also some of the properties of these geometries are collected. These geometries are then classified. The main result states that any affine dilatation-chain space with an involution satisfying a certain richness condition can be viewed as an affine chain geometry over some Jordan algebra. This means that one can define a multiplication on the underlying vector space such that one obtains a Jordan algebra. Moreover, the involution on the geometry is closely connected to the involution in the Jordan algebra. However, to make this theorem true, one has to impose an additional condition on the involution.
