\textit{I. M. Lifschitz} and \textit{L. N. Rozentsweig} obtained in 1947 the following representation for a displacement Green's function in the homogeneous anisotropic three-dimensional elastostatics: \(\mathbb{U}(x,y)=(1/8\pi^2r)\langle\mathbb{K}^{-1}\rangle\), where \(r=|x-y|\), \(\mathbb{K}^{-1}\) is the inverse matrix of \(\mathbb{K}\) defined in components by \(K_{ij}=C_{iljm}\xi_l\xi_m\) \((\xi\in \mathbb{R}^3)\), \(C_{iljm}\) is the elasticity tensor, and \(\langle \cdot\rangle\) represents the line integral over a unit circle in the plane having normal \(x-y\). Since the calculation of the term \(\langle \mathbb{K}^{-1}\rangle\) for an arbitrary anisotropic solid is quite expensive, to make things easier the authors propose here to use the expansion formula \(\langle \mathbb{K}^{-1}\rangle=\langle (\mathbb{K}_I-\mathbb{K}_A)^{-1}\rangle=\langle\mathbb{K}_I^{-1}(\mathbb{I}-\mathbb{K}_A\mathbb{K}_I^{-1})^{- 1}\rangle=\langle \mathbb{K}_I^{-1}\sum_{n=0}^\infty(\mathbb{K}_A\mathbb{K}_I^{-1})^n\rangle=\sum_{n=0}^\infty \langle \mathbb{K}_I^{-1}(\mathbb{K}_A\mathbb{K}_I^{-1})^n\rangle\), in which \(\mathbb{K}_I\) represents an isotropic solid, and \(\mathbb{K}_A\) is an ``anisotropic remainder''. A convergence condition for the expansion is provided in the case of a cubic crystal, and the procedure is illustrated by numerical examples.
