    The Cauchy problem \(y' = f(t,y)\), \(y(t_0) = y_0\) is solved by use of linear \(k\)-step multistep formulae in which the values \(y_0, \dots, y_{k_1 - 1}, y_N, \dots, y_{N+k_2 - 1}\), \(k_1 + k_2 = k\) are supposed to be fixed and known. The convergence of this boundary value method is discussed.
