For \(D^2\) the open unit disc in the plane let \(G\) be the group of smooth compactly supported area-preserving diffeomorphisms of \(D^2\). For \(H:D^2\to\mathbb R\) smooth and compactly supported the time-one map of the flow generated by \(-\frac{\partial H}{\partial y}\partial_x+\frac{\partial H}{\partial x}\partial_y\) is in \(G\), called an autonomous diffeomorphism. Any \(f\in G\) is a finite composition of autonomous diffeomorphisms and \(\min\{m\in\mathbb N \mid f=h_1\dots h_m \text{ with each }h_i\) autonomous
