In this paper the author considers a problem of calculating nominal values of the parameters of a device that ensure an optimal qualitative characteristic of the device within the precision limits of the facilities employed. This problem is formalized as a problem of finding a maximin of a function of the difference of arguments. In the case when the qualitative characteristic of the device is a quasi-concave function of parameters, an algorithm for solving this problem is suggested.
