Propagation of torsional waves in a viscoelastic layer over an inhomogeneous half space (Q2016585): Difference between revisions

The authors consider propagation of time harmonic torsional waves in a viscoelastic layer overlying an inhomogeneous elastic half space. The density and rigidity in the half space is assumed to be exponentially varying with depth. A complex valued period equation is derived for the layer and discussed in some special cases. Some numerical results depicting effects on real wave number for different viscosities of layer and inhomogeneity of half space are presented in graphical form.
