All rings considered in this paper are commutative with nonzero identity. According to \textit{A. Badawi} et al. [Bull. Korean Math. Soc. 51, No. 4, 1163--1173 (2014; Zbl 1308.13001)], a proper ideal \(P\) of a commutative ring \(R\) is called 2-absorbing primary if whenever \(a,b,c\in R\) with \(abc\in P,\) then \(ab\in P\) or \(ac\in \sqrt{P}\) or \(bc\in \sqrt{P}.\) In this paper under review, the author gives a characterization of rings in which every 2-absorbing primary ideal is primary and he calls such rings 2-ABP rings. More precisely, he proves that the ring \(R\) is 2-ABP if and only if the prime ideals of \(R\) are comparable and every ideal of \(R\) with prime radical is primary, which is equivalent to the fact that every ideal of \(R\) is primary. Moreover, he gives necessary and sufficient conditions for trivial extensions and amalgamated algebras along an ideal to be 2-ABP.
