In this paper, the Darcy flow problem in a two-dimensional fractured porous domain is studied. The finite volume element method (FVEM) to discretize the multi-dimensional fracture model is applied and the two-grid technique to decouple the multi-domain problem for enhancing the calculation efficiency is considered. The paper is organized as follows. Section 1 is an introduction. In Section 2 the multi-dimensional Darcy-Darcy fracture model is described and some notations are introduced. In Section 3 the FVEM is proposed, and its stability and optimal-order convergency are discussed. The two-grid FVEM is established and analyzed in Section 4. In Section 5 a series of numerical experiments for two-grid FVEM to verify the theoretical investigations are presented. Finally, the main results of the paper are summarized in Section 6.
