The paper investigates inverse systems of height \(\omega_1\) of discrete topological spaces. Inverse limits of such systems are \(P\)-\textit{spaces}, meaning that any countable intersection of open sets is an open set -- or, equivalently, \(X = (X)_\delta\), where \((X)_\delta\) denotes the \(G_\delta\)-\textit{modification} of \(X\), which is the topology on \(X\) generated by the \(G_\delta\)-sets. The authors use the interpretation of an inverse limit as a tree which yields a topological space. A large number of results are established. For instance, it is shown in the paper that any \(P\)-space of weight \(\omega_1\) can be embedded into \((2^{\omega_1})_\delta\).
