In the paper, the \(n\)th order non-linear delayed differential equation \[ y^{(n)}(t)=f\big(t,y_t,y'_t,\dots,y^{(n-1)}_t\big) \] is studied on the unbounded interval \([t_0,+\infty)\). The main hypothesis of Theorems 1 and 2 is the existence of a suitable function \(\varphi\) satisfying the differential inequality \[ (-1)^n\varphi^{(n)}(t)\geq(-1)^nf\big(t,\varphi_t,\varphi'_t,\dots,\varphi^{(n-1)}_t\big)\text{ for }\ t\geq t_0 \] which allows to prove the existence of a solution to the equation considered in the cone given by \(\varphi\). Some consequences for linear equations are provided as well.
