Let \(H\) be a Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field, denote as \(H_0\) it's coradical and also denote as \(H_{[0]}\) it's Hopf coradical. The paper under review deals with the problem of calssification of Hopf algebras with finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. According to [the first author and \textit{J. Cuadra}, J. Noncommut. Geom. 7, No. 1, 83--104 (2013; Zbl 1279.16024)] this problem should be considered in four cases, one of them is the case when \(H\neq H_0\neq H_{[0]}\). In the present paper, the authors give the following contribution to the classification problem in this case. They ``show that a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra whose Hopf coradical is basic is a lifting of a Nichols algebra of a semisimple Yetter-Drinfeld module and they explain how to classify Nichols algebras of this kind.''
