Waring's Theorem, which is studied and extended in this paper, states that: Given two plane algebraic curves \(C\) and \(D\) with no common points on the line at infinity then the barycenter of the points of the intersection \(C\) \(\cap\) \(D\) (counting multiplicities) is the barycenter of the intersection points of \(D\) with the union of the asymptotes of \(C\). For background see [\textit{G. Fouret}, Nouv. Ann. (3) IX. 258--288 (1890; JFM 22.0173.02)] and [\textit{E. Kunz} and \textit{R. Waldi}, Math. Semesterber. 42, No. 2, 163--180 (1995; Zbl 0846.14020)]. The proofs of Waring's Theorem that are studied nowadays can be divided into two parts : (1) The two highest homogeneous parts of the equation of a curve are determined by its asymptotes and (2) The barycenter of the intersection points of two affine curves only depends on the two highest homogeneous parts of the equations of the curves. See Liouville's paper [\textit{J. Liouville}, ``Mémoire sur quelques propositions générales de géométrie et sur la théorie de l'élimination dans les équations algébriques'', J. Math. Pures App., 6, 345--411 (1841)]. In the present paper the author gives a geometric characterization of part (1) . Furthermore, with his geometric characterization together with part (2) the author gives an extension of Waring's Theorem where the curve \(C\) is replaced by a general type of curves instead of the union of its asymptotes.
