In this paper the author studies weakly \(ES\)-stable ideals of integral domains. A nonzero ideal \(I\) of an integral domain \(R\) is a \textit{weakly \(ES\)-stable ideal} if \(I\) is a product \(I=JE\) for some invertible fractional ideal \(J\) and idempotent fractional ideal \(E\). As shown by the author, the ideal \(I\) is an \(ES\)-stable ideal if and only if it satisfies this definition with the additional requirement that \(J\subseteq I\subseteq E\). The domain \(R\) is \textit{weakly \(ES\)-stable} if every nonzero ideal of \(R\) is weakly \(ES\)-stable (Here `ES' stands for Eakin-Sathaye). The author studies connections between weak \(ES\)-stability and other stability properties of ideals in integral domains For example, he proves that a nonzero ideal \(I\) of a domain \(R\) is \(ES\)-stable if and only if \(I\) is stable and weakly \(ES\)-stable. Here are some of the results proved in this paper: {\parindent=0.7cm \begin{itemize}\item[{\(\bullet\)}] An integral domain \(R\) is Prüfer if and only if \(R\) is integrally closed and every nonzero finitely generated ideal of \(R\) is weakly \(ES\)-stable. \item[{\(\bullet\)}] If \(R\) is Noetherian, then a nonzero ideal of \(R\) is weakly \(ES\)-stable if and only if it is \(ES\)-stable. \item[{\(\bullet\)}] A weakly \(ES\)-stable strong Mori domain is Noetherian. \item[{\(\bullet\)}] If \(R[X]\) or \(R[[X]]\) is almost finitely weakly \(ES\)-stable, then \(R\) is a field. \end{itemize}} Further results are presented in this context concerning various properties of integral domains: Clifford regular, quasi-Prüfer, conducive domains, etc. The author characterize weakly \(ES\)-stable ideals in valuation domains. and the weak \(ES\)-stable property for several classes of integral domains including valuation domains. Pullbacks of weakly \(ES\)-stable domains are throughly investigated.
