Let \(X\) be a nonempty set. Due to A. Császár, a nonempty collection \(g\) of subsets of \(X\) is called a generalized topology if it contains the empty set and is closed under arbitrary unions. The pair \((X,g)\) is called a generalized topological space (GTS), the elements of \(g\) are called \(g\)-open and their complements are called \(g\)-closed. This paper investigates the notion of contra continuity between generalized topological spaces, i.e. a function \(f \colon (X,g_X) \rightarrow (Y,g_Y)\) is contra \((g_X,g_Y)\)-continuous if the inverse of every \(g\)-open set in \(Y\) is \(g\)-closed in \(X\). Some characterizations and elementary properties (following the reasoning in the topological case) are established.
