The main object of the paper under review is a principal homogeneous space \(X\) of the norm one torus \(T\) related to the kernel of the norm map of a biquadratic extension of a number field. The author's goal is to compute explicitly the unramified Brauer group of \(X\). Although its value is well known (\(\mathbb Z/2\)), it is not easy to decide whether a given element of the unramified Brauer group is mapped to zero. The author produces an efficient method for such a computation and in certain cases obtains an explicit criterion for the solvability of the relevant norm equation.
