Let \(X\) be a projective symplectic manifold, \(S\) a normal projective variety and \(f:X\dashrightarrow S\) almost holomorphic in the sense that \(f_{|U}:U\rightarrow S\) is a proper holomorphic map with connected fibers for some Zariski open subset \(U\subset X\). Assume moreover that \(f\) is a Lagrangian fibration, i.e., the general fiber of \(f_{|U}\) is a Lagrangian submanifold of \(X\). Then the pull-back \(f^*(D_S)\) of every ample divisor \(D_S\) on \(S\) is a numerically effective divisor on \(X\). This is the main result of the article. The author uses differential geometric methods as well as algebraic geometric methods known from the minimal model problem and shows in addition that a non-trivial almost holomorphic fibration \(g:Y\dashrightarrow S\) is always a Lagrangian fibration in the above sense if \(Y\) is a simply connected symplectic projective manifold with dim \(H^0(Y,\Omega^2_Y)=1\). For a similar result see his paper [Topology 40, No. 2, 431--432 (2001)]. The following rigidity property is a corollary of the main result: If \(f_i:X_i\rightarrow S_i\), are holomorphic Lagrangian fibrations of projective symplectic manifolds \(X_i\) onto normal varieties \(S_i\), \(i=1,2\), and if \(\phi:X_1\dashrightarrow X_2\), \(\psi:S_1\dashrightarrow S_2\) are birational maps with \(\psi\circ f_1=f_2\circ \phi\) then \(\psi\) is biholomorphic.
