The author constructs asymptotic expansions for solutions to the Cauchy problem for systems of nonlinear differential equations of order \(n \geq 2\) that contain terms oscillating at frequencies \(\omega >> 1\) and proportional to \(\omega^p\), where \(p = 1,2, \dots. [n/2]\), i.e. of the form \[ \frac{d^n x}{dt^n} = f_0 \left ( x, \frac{dx}{dt},\dots, \frac{d^kx}{dt^k},t,\omega t \right ) + \sum_{i=1}^p \omega^i f_i \left ( x, \frac{dx}{dt},\dots, \frac{d^{k-i}x}{dt^{k-i}},t,\omega t \right ) \] with initial conditions \[ x(0)=x_0, \frac{dx(0)}{dt} = x_1,\dots,\frac{d^{n-1}x(0)}{dt^{n-1}}=x_{n-1} \] and with \(t \in [0,T]\) and \(k=n-p\). The author uses the method of Strygin, a version of the method of two-scale expansion, to construct an asymptotic solution in the case \(n=2\) and \(p=1\).
