Let \(\mu\) be a Bernoulli measure on a symbol space \(\Omega\), the upper and lower tangential dimensions are defined respectively by \[ {\underline \delta}_\mu(w):=\lim_{m\to\infty}\liminf_{n\to\infty}\frac{1}{M} \log\left(\frac{\mu[w_1,\dots,w_n]}{\mu[w_1,\dots,w_{m+n}]}\right), \] \[ {\overline \delta}_\mu(w):=\lim_{m\to\infty}\limsup_{n\to\infty}\frac{1}{M} \log\left(\frac{\mu[w_1,\dots,w_n]}{\mu[w_1,\dots,w_{m+n}]}\right), \] where \([w_1,\dots,w_n]\) is a cylinder of order \(n\). Let \(\dim_H E, \dim_PE\) denote the Hausdorff dimension and packing dimension of the set \(E\), \(H(x):=-x\log x-(1-x)\log(1-x)\), \(H(x,y):=-x\log y-(1-x)\log(1-y)\), \(x,y\leq 1\). Let \[ Y_{\alpha,\beta}:=\{\omega\in \Omega| {\underline \delta}_\mu(w)=H(\alpha,p); {\overline \delta}_\mu(w)=H(\beta,p), 0\leq\alpha,\beta\leq 1\}. \] The authors prove: \[ \dim_H Y_{\alpha,\beta}=\dim_P Y_{\alpha,\beta}=\sup_{\alpha\leq t\leq\beta}\frac{H(t)}{\log 2}. \] These results extend some classical work of Besicovitch and Eggleston.
