This paper establishes the existence (multiplicity) and nonexistence of positive \(\omega\)-periodic solutions of nonautonomous delay differential equations by means of a fixed point theorem in cones. As an application, some criteria for the existence of a positive periodic solution of a one-parameter family of blood cell production models are established.
