The authors show that for a given curve \(c: \alpha= \alpha(u)\) when some conditions are fulfilled, it is always possible to obtain a family of time-like or space-like surfaces \(S\): \[ S:\varphi(u,r)= \alpha(u)+ [x(u,v) e_1(u)+ y(u,v)e_2(u)+ z(u,v)e_3(u)], \] where \(x(u,v)\), \(y(u,v)\) and \(z(u,v)\) are \(C^1\) functions and \(\{e_1(u), e_2(u), e_3(u)\}\) is the Frénet frame for the curve \(c\); for which the given curve \(c\) is their common geodesic. The results are illustrated by several nice examples.
