Recall that a strong Świątkowski function \(f\) is a real function on an interval with the property that whenever \(a<b\) and \(y\) is a number between \(f(a)\) and \(f(b)\), there exists an \(x_0\in(a,b)\) such that \(f(x_0)=y\) and \(f\) is continuous at point \(x_0\). The author proves that for any lower semicontinuous function \(f\) on a compact interval there are two strong Świątkowski and also lower semicontinuous functions \(g\) and \(h\) such that \(f=g+h\). This fact is a positive answer to a conjecture of \textit{A. Maliszewski} [Darboux property and quasi-continuity. A uniform approach. Słupsk: Wydawnictwo Uczelniane WSP (1996)].
