Verf. zeigt auf rein analytischem Wege, daß die Anwendung der \textit{Thomas-Fermi}-Methode auf ein Kristallgitter zu keinem Minimum der Energie führt, also zur Erklärung der Stabilität des Gitters ungeeignet ist. Verf. benutzt dabei die von \textit{Wigner} und \textit{Seitz} eingeführte Aufteilung des Kristalls in polyedrische Zellen und deren Annäherung durch Kugeln.
