Let \(l\) be a prime, and let \(q\) be a prime power not divisible by \(l\). Denote \(G=\mathrm{GL}_n(\mathbb F_q)\) and let \(\bar{\mathbb F}_l\) be an algebraic closure of \(\mathbb F_l\). Let \(\bar{\pi}\) be an irreducible \(\bar{\mathbb F}_l[G]\)-representation which is cuspidal but not supercuspidal. The author considers representations over the Witt vectors \(W(\bar{\mathbb F}_l)\) and computes the \(W(\bar{\mathbb F}_l)[G]\)-endomorphism ring of the projective envelope of \(\bar{\pi}\), under the assumption that \(l>n>1\).
