Rediscovering some old root-finding methods is not a rarity in numerical analysis. In this paper, the authors consider two families of root-finding methods for solving nonlinear equations. Both the families were derived by \textit{E. Schröder} [Clebsch. Ann. II. 317--365 (1870; JFM 02.0042.02)]. The main goal is to prove the equivalence of the rediscovered methods with Schröder's methods.
