The limit cycle bifurcation for a class of piecewise smooth cubic systems is discussed. The first order Melnikov function is used, and the authors claim that at least thirteen limit cycles can be bifurcated from periodic solutions near the center in such a piecewise smooth cubic systems. This problem is very interesting.
