Existence of positive solutions, dead core solutions, and pseudo dead core solutions of the singular second order \(\varphi\)-Laplacian problem \[ (\varphi(u'))'+f(t,u')=\lambda g(t,u,u'), \;t \in [0,T];\quad u'(0)=0,\quad \beta u'(T)+\alpha u(T)=A \] is studied. Here, \(\lambda\) is a positive parameter, \(\beta\geq 0\), \(\alpha, A>0\), \(f\) may be singular at \(t=0\) and \(g\) is singular at \(u=0\). The authors construct a sequence of regular problems defined on the interval \([1/n,T]\), with \(n \in\mathbb N\). Once they have proved the existence of solutions of such problems, they deduce the existence of a solution of the singular problem from aproximation theory.
