The first aim of this paper is to get solutions estimates and to derive stability tests for the following linear delay system of a neutral type \[ \dot{x}(t)-A(t)\dot{x}(g(t))=\sum_{k=1}^{m}B_{k}(t)x(h_{k}(t)),\quad t\geq t_{0}\geq 0. \tag{AA}\] where, \(A\) and \(B_{k}\) are \(n\times n\) bounded matrix functions, and \(g, h_{k}\) are delayed arguments. The second goal is to develop exponential estimates for solutions of a non-homogeneous version of (AA), with a coefficient of exponential part described by a maximum of the initial functions, while the maximum of the right-hand side leads to a constant bound, not an exponential estimate of a solution. The authors evaluate short-term, as well as long-term behavior of a solution. The results of this study are new and extend some existing results in the literatures. Finally, in order to illustrate the feasibility and novelty of these results, the authors present some important examples and suggest some relevant topics for future research.
