In this paper, the authors extend some of the results by \textit{R. Kumar} in Fuzzy Sets Syst. 46, No. 1, 147-154 (1992; Zbl 0770.13016). They also show by example that several of Kumar's results are not true. In particular, the authors show that the fuzzy prime spectrum of a ring and the elements of its basis are both compact. They show that it is not true in general that any element of a basis of the fuzzy prime spectrum of a Boolean ring is closed and the fuzzy prime spectrum itself is Hausdorff. The interested reader may find another approach to the study of the fuzzy prime spectrum of a ring in two papers by \textit{H. V. Kumbhojkar} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 62, No. 1, 101-109 (1994; Zbl 0832.54004) and ``Some comments on spectrums of prime fuzzy ideals of ring'', ibid. 85, No. 1, 109-114 (1997)].
