The paper is concerned with the convection-diffusion problem of the form \[ -\Delta u + \text{div}(\beta u) = f \] and the hyperbolic case \[ \text{div} (\beta u) = f. \] Error estimates for generalized hybrid finite element/finite volume methods are obtained that decrease proportional to \(h^{1/2}\).
