For a Lagrangian submanifold of complex Euclidean \(n\)-space \({\mathbb{C}}^n\) with scalar curvature \(\tau\) and squared mean curvature \(H^2\), one has \(\tau\leq n^2(n-1)H^2/(n+2)\) with equality holding only for open sets of the Lagrangian subspaces of \(\mathbb{C}^n\) or of the Whitney sphere (see [\textit{I. Castro} and \textit{F. Urbano}, Tôhoku Math. J. 45, 565-582 (1993; Zbl 0792.53050)] for \(n=2\) and [\textit{V. Borrelli, B.-Y. Chen} and \textit{J.-M. Morvan}, C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Sér. I 321, 1485-1490 (1995; Zbl 0842.53016)] and [\textit{A. Ros} and \textit{F. Urbano}, J. Math. Soc. Jap. 50, 203-226 (1998)] for \(n\geq 3\)). In this paper, the author constructs a one-parameter family of Lagrangian spheres \(\Phi_q:S^n\to\mathbb{C}^n\) \((q\geq 2)\) which satisfies \(\tau=(n+2q-2)(n-1)n^2H^2/(n+q)^2\). Those Lagrangian spheres can be considered as generalizations of the Whitney sphere which is given by \(\Phi_2\). The author also uses Maslov's form to establish a global characterization of \(\Phi_q\) inside the family of compact Lagrangian submanifolds with null first Betti number in \(\mathbb{C}^n\).
