\textit{M. Fragoulopoulou} [Pac. J. Math. 147, 57-70 (1991; Zbl 0763.46044)] has shown that the image of a Pták \(Q\) \(lmc^*\)-algebra onto a barrelled \(lmc\) \(C^*\)-algebra under a \(*\)-homomorphism is a \(C^*\)- algebra. The authors prove here the following modified theorem: The \(*\)-homomorphic image of a \(*\)-spectrally bounded \(*\)-algebra onto a barrelled pseudocomplete \(lmc\) \(C^*\)-algebra is a \(C^*\)-algebra.
