In this article the author studies what he calls \textit{twist vertex operators} \((Y^g)_{WV}^W\) for (lower-bounded generalised) twisted modules \(W\) for grading-restricted vertex (super)algebras \(V\). These are obtained by applying the skew-symmetry isomorphism \(\Omega_+\) to the twisted vertex operators \(Y_W^g\) and they are intertwining operators of type \(\binom{W}{W\,V}\) [\textit{Y.-Z. Huang}, J. Algebra 493, 346--380 (2018; Zbl 1425.17041)]. The author then proves duality, weak associativity, a Jacobi identity, a generalised commutator formula, generalised weak commutativity and convergence and commutativity for products of more than two operators with one operator being a twist vertex operator. The results in this paper are relevant for Huang's general construction of lower-bounded generalised twisted modules for grading-restricted vertex (super)algebras [\textit{Y.-Z. Huang}, Commun. Math. Phys. 377, No. 2, 909--945 (2020; Zbl 1448.17030)]. Indeed, the generalised commutator formula and the generalised weak commutativity are used as main assumptions on the ``twist fields'' in this construction.
