The author considers a compartmental model for the mathematical description of some biological processes in which the material transport between compartments takes a nonnegligible time and each compartment produces or swallows materials. The proposed model is a neutral functional differential equation. A mathematical study is carried out with emphasis on the stability and asymptotic stability of the proposed model.
