The authors study the following periodic differential equation \[ x''(t)=f(t,x(t),x(t-\tau(t)),x'(t))+e(t). \] Based on Mawhin's continuation theorem, several sufficient conditions on the existence of a periodic solution are established. It is worth to mention that the growth conditions here are different from those in the literature.
