The author proves that Euclidean 3-space cannot be filled with cubes such that neighboring cubes have different lengths. This settles on old question asked by \textit{D. E. Daykin} [Space filling with unequal cubes, Bull. Amer. Math. Soc. 70, 340-341 (1964)]. A fine achievemnt!.
